Magdalene, or, In Defence of Beauty received a “tremendous” response from its Amsterdam Muziektheater audience when it was premiered by Dutch National Ballet in a bill shared by the works of George Balanchine and Holland’s foremost dance-maker Hans van Manen. Below you can watch a documentary by Mathieu Gremillet as well as the 27 March 2011 performance featuring choreography by Remi Wörtmeyer and music by Chloé Charody, all set to Malcolm’s original libretto and direction.
